Our Careers Programme aims to:

  • raise our students’ aspirations and promote access to all career pathways
  • enable our students to develop the skills and outlook they need to achieve career wellbeing, including adaptability and resilience

The programme is built around the Eight Gatsby Benchmarks that have been well-researched and commended by the Government.

We run a number of careers and work-related learning events throughout the school year. At appropriate times we also run trips to Further Education Colleges, Universities and Higher Education and Apprenticeship fairs as well as to subject-focused careers events such as the Big Bang Fair.

Work Experience

Work Experience provides students with valuable experience of the world of work. It is a great opportunity for them to develop their confidence and communication skills, as well as learning and improving core employability skills.

Our work experience programme gives this opportunity to every pupil in Year 10 and Year 12 and we also strive to support any further opportunities for work experience or work shadowing that the pupils manage to secure.

The Wessex Inspiration Network (WIN) Programme

The WIN is a targeted programme of activities and events for young people considering and making decisions about their future.

The WIN worked has worked with over 500 students each year since 2017 from the North Wiltshire area, empowering them to explore their future options and routes into higher education.

The WIN Programme can provide support through activities such as:

  • Employability, personal development and study skills workshops
  • Trips with an HE focus
  • HE information sessions
  • Residentials
  • Personalised careers advice
  • Work experience support

Find out more about the WIN on and within our WIN HE Adviser’s leaflet.
