Improved Attainment
There is clear evidence that students improve attainment if they attend school regularly.
We wish to work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that every student has the very best attendance. We expect your full support in ensuring that your child attends school every day and on time.
The target attendance figure for all pupils is a minimum of 97% attendance. Any attendance below 97% will have an impact on a student’s final attainment. Based on current attendance figures your child will be placed in one of the groups as shown on the chart. Your child will be informed weekly of their Attendance Group by their tutor.
To achieve 97% would mean your child would not attend for 5 days in an academic year. For most students this should be achievable through resilience and responsibility. Attendance below 97% normally is a sign that there is a problem at school which needs fixing. As soon as we can address this issue, the sooner their attendance will improve and they will enjoy school.
Please contact our Attendance Officer on 01249 818100 as soon as you have concerns that your son/daughter is showing reluctance to come into school.
